Omega – The Alpha and Omega of elegant and technically sophisticated watches
Louis Brandt manufactured his watches in the Comptoir d'établissage established in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. But the quality of the single parts left much to be desired and Brandt no longer wanted to be responsible for minor quality using his good name. So he began to manufacture his own parts and quickly attained a good reputation all over Europe. After his death, his sons moved to Biel with the company where they did not only buy a factory but also changed the name of the company to Omega in 1894. The reason was a 19-ligne caliber that was not only ahead of its time, it was also showered with praise and awards. Motivated by this, they developed a number of different watches, of course also with complications. Still today, Omega develops innovative technologies, like the coaxial escapement which makes the watch run more smoothly and thus it requires less maintenance.
From simple elegance to sportive precision
The famous coaxial escapement has meanwhile been integrated in almost all models of the Swiss top label. At the same time, it doesn't matter if it is one of the numerous women's or men's collections. Opposite to some other manufacturers, the women's collections with Omega don't play a marginal role - they are a full member of the big family of wonderful luxury timepieces. Wristbands made of different gold grades, leather, textile or rubber and cases of steel and gold reveal fine watches for all occasions.
The wide variety of collections by the brand Omega at a glance
Omega as a brand cultivates a great tradition and feels obliged to this tradition in the leading model lines. So you can dive with the Omega Seamaster Collection, stop the time with the Speedmaster and benefit from simple elegance with the De Ville. These four fantastic collections are complemented by the extroverted Constellation Collection.
Omega lines in the overview:
- Seamaster

- De Ville
Seamaster – Mistress of the seas
All main collections by the brand are clearly legendary, icons in watch history and never a question of taste. But absolutely sticking out in this selection is the Seamaster line! Since 1947, watch connoisseurs put their trust in the diving watch which is especially popular in the classic versions 300 or Planet Ocean. Anyone who thinks that the Seamaster is a diving watch always trying to keep its classic appearance scoring with understatement is wrong: Also exciting models like the series Omega Seamaster Bullhead or the special edition Omega Seamaster James Bond 007 are part of the series. The additional description Professional stands for particularly high waterproofness within the entire Seamaster series.
The Seamaster main lines at a glance:
- Seamaster 300
- Planet Ocean 600 M
- Aqua Terra 150 M
- Diver 300 M
- Bullhead
- Ploprof 1200 M
Speedmaster – a Seamaster on shore
What the Seamaster is in water applies for Omega Speedmaster Watches on land. The sport and racing chronographs by Omega have been presenting themselves vibrant, eloquent and extremely sportive since 1957. Initially, the Moonwatch Seamaster was only supposed to conquer the outer space. First of all, the watch introduced in 1957 gained worldwide popularity before it was that special timekeeper in 1969 that was the companion of Neil Armstrong to the moon. This moment reminiscences the series with numerous models such as, for example, the Seamaster Moonwatch Co-Axial Chronograph or the Moonwatch Moonphase.
These are the current Speedmaster series:
- Speedmaster
- Speedmaster '57
- Moonwatch
- Mark II
- Racing
- HB-SIA
- Skywalker X-33
- Spacemaster Z-33
Elegance and extravagancy – Constellation
Constellation presumably means stellar constellation. Certainly, the designers have meant this equivalent in 1952 when they launched the first Omega Constellation. Since then, it has been the alternative to the Speedmaster and Seamaster. No chronograph, no diving watch, sometimes pure understatement, sometimes a touch of extravagancy - significant in the range is only the fixed bezel with a Roman numeral engraving. But, however this is a promise not every Constellation can make. The modern Globemaster does without the defining characteristic in favor of the optic. Their series is separated into classic Constellation timepieces and the Constellation Globemaster line.
Finally also a women's line – De Ville
Admittedly: The majority of timepieces within the Omega De Ville Collection was created for men's wrists. Still, watch enthusiasts find a rarity in the dresswatch series by Omega: Within the lines, ladies have an own series and are happy about absolutely new own models with the De Ville Ladymatic. Even if the series Seamaster, Speedmaster and Constellation include also ladies watches, this is a peculiarity. With this line, ladies and gentlemen can look forward to elegant timepieces for day and night. Modern calibers with antimagnetic components and chic complications raise the collection De Ville to the latest standards.
