Zenith Watches: Vision & success
It was at the young age of 22 that Georges Favre-Jacot founded his company "Fabrique des Billodes" in the Swiss town of Le Locle. He started out with a manufactory for pocket watches – just as most watchmakers back then. But there was one significant difference: Not only every single piece was individually signed and engraved, Favre-Jacot even created the movements himself. The change of name just came to his mind after he created his best movement until then. He did not believe to ever surpass the quality of this movement and for this reason he changed the company’s name to the proverbial top of the universe and made a five-ray star the brand’s logo. After World War I, Zenith eventually started producing wristwatches, which were just as excellent as everything the company had delivered so far. Zenith gained international acclaim with the release of the "El Primero" movement, which is still in use today in some of their luxury timepieces.
Pure indulgence
Leather, steel and gold – the materials used for Zenith watches and wristbands portray a classic style that mixes functionality with a sense of fashion. The dials range from silver, to white, black, even rose or blue and don't leave anything to be desired when it comes to visual or technical quality. Of course Zenith does not only offer the traditional round designs, there's a wide range of angular shapes. Most of those luxury timepieces are waterproof. In addition to that, some of the collections feature intricate details such as tourbillons or moon phase display. Both men´s and women's watches have luminous hands, indices, small seconds, week indication and date display – and they even show the power reserve for their automatic movements.
