Hamilton Jazzmaster

The company was founded in 1893 in Lancaster, a relatively small town in Pennsylvania. The firm developed out of the remnants of the Adams & Perry Watch Company. Hamilton's ideas were more far-reaching than had previously been the case, and his approach to high-quality timepieces was quite different from what tradition dictated. Through its deep connection to aviation and the booming cinema industry as well as the military, the company created excellent watches that also found favor in Europe. It also earned its undisputed leading position among America's watchmakers thanks to the marine chronometer developed in 1941 and the observation watch. Only a few years later, Hamilton also brought the first electric wristwatch to market, followed by the first electronic quartz watch with a digital LED display.
