When the Adams & Perry Watch Company could no longer withstand competitive pressure, Hamilton took over and, with its innovative ideas regarding technology and function, created timepieces that attracted attention worldwide. Since the company felt particularly connected to aviation, the military and the then-new cinema technologies, it developed, among other things, the famous marine chronometer that brought Hamilton to the forefront of American watchmakers. The observation watch for pilots also originated from the inventor's think tank. After the passing of the innovative company founder, the heirs continued the innovations; among other things, the first electronic quartz watches and the first electric wristwatches came from the house of Hamilton.
