MÜHLE Glashütte

The Saxon town Glashütte is the stronghold in this regard. The watchmakers manufactory Mühle Glashütte was established in 1869 – first the company focused on measuring instruments and precise mechanical devices. Watches only were nice spin-off products. Like many other enterprises, the family business was expropriated in 1945 and its manufacturing plants were demolished.

In 1946, Hans Mühle, the grandson of the companies’ founder, started a new business which again specialized on well-known classics. The renationalization of the enterprise in 1972 could not change leadership and since 1994 Hans-Jürgen Mühle has been the sole proprietor of the traditional company. In addition to high-quality luxury timepieces for women and men they produce extremely complex facilities for marine clocks, which are able to operate up to 150 watches.
