Omega Seamaster

The company was established by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds but after his death his sons resettled the manufactory to Biel. They were the first who got to work on the industrial manufacturing of single watch components and on top of this, they brought it to perfection. So, already in 1898 about 100.000 watches were manufactured by only 500 employees, which was an unbelievably large amount back then. After the death of the Brandt brothers the company remained family property and soon made a name for itself as manufacturer of high-quality watches for various fields of application such as flying, diving and sports in general. By the way, the name Omega origins from a timepiece launched in 1894 that was carrying this designation and metaphorically stands for perfection. With this in mind, also the Omega Seamaster has already been produced since 1947.
