“John Mayer” is a nickname from the collector scene, not an official Rolex name. It goes back to the reference 116508-0013, which according to the specialist press was presented at Baselworld 2016 and produced until 2023. It earned its nickname after a guitarist wore it and praised it in a video. With the 126508-0008, the combination returned in 2025.
