Ilvo Fontana, a master craftsman in precision instruments, received a prestigious commission from the Italian Navy. He was tasked with designing a new timepiece for their pilots. This challenge required meeting the Navy's exacting quality standards and precise technical specifications, but above all, it had to guarantee maximum visibility and reliability in any lighting or weather conditions. However, unfortunate circumstances at that time prevented this from happening. In 2000, Italo Fontana, Ilvo's grandson, discovered the precious designs, which became the inspiration for the first U-Boat watch.
