Rolex GMT-Master II – Concise and memorable

Around the year 1900, Hans Wilsdorf from Kulmbach went to La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland where he found work in an import and export business. However, he wanted to realise his own ideas and so he established his own business in 1905. Contrary to the tradition at this time, he was the first who had his company name stamped on the watches instead of his last name. Also the idea to print the name on the dial was a complete break in style. But Wilsdorf knew that his name was a tongue-twister in the English speaking regions why he invented the word Rolex. There are various attempts to interpret the world, but Wilsdorf never revealed the actual meaning. However, it is true that the watches have an identifiable design – like for example the Rolex GMT-Master II.

Explore the GMT-Master II

In 1955, the predecessor of the GMT-Master II was presented for the first time and impressed by a simple but classical look. This timepiece was specifically developed for the requirements of the international flight paths. In 2005, the new edition was launched: Every model is furnished with a rotating bezel including 24-hour graduation and a 24-hour clock hand. Moreover, the Rolex GMT-Master II has three different time zones available – a must-have for globetrotters. But, these luxury timepieces impress not only by their technical features, also the design is impressive. Fans of classical Rolex watches will love the GMT-Master II collection. Wristbands made of high-quality materials, like stainless steel, white and yellow gold and dials in black or dark green complete the unique look of these watches. Some of the models are partly set with precious diamonds. The GMT-Master II meets every requirement on design and technology.
