Description

This Rolex GMT-Master II has the reference number 126720VTNR and shines with a black dial. The case has a diameter of 40mm and is made of stainless steel. Also made of stainless steel is the Oyster strap. The GMT-Master II is equipped with the caliber 3285 and is a chronometer. In addition, there is the central second hand and a screw-down crown, a date display and a second time zone.

Due to the bezel color, the watch is nicknamed Sprite.

In addition to the traditional hour, minute and second hands, the GMT-Master II features a bi-directional rotating bezel with 24-hour divisions. The unique color of the 24-hour dial indicates the reference time, which can be read on a scale on the bracelet and corresponds to the time in the first time zone (e.g. at home). The local time can be easily adjusted in one-hour increments by means of a sophisticated mechanism operated by the winding crown. The hour hand can be set clockwise or counterclockwise, independently of the minute and second hands. This allows the traveler to set a new time without losing accuracy.

The new caliber 3285 is a new generation of movements developed and manufactured entirely by Rolex, with 10 patents, chronograph functions and a power reserve of about 70 hours. Like all Rolex perpetual motion movements, caliber 3285 is a Swiss-certified chronometer. Only high-precision watches that have been tested by the COSC (Contrôle officiel suisse des chronomètres), an independent testing body, are allowed to carry this designation. The caliber 3285 is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, which is more resistant to shocks and temperature fluctuations than conventional hairsprings. The movement's patented design guarantees the unparalleled reliability also found in all movements in the Oyster collection.
