Progress and authenticity at 38 millimeters

Like its historical model, the Original has a slim 38-millimeter stainless steel case and is therefore perfectly suited for narrow men's wrists. Domed, noticeably raised sapphire crystal and satin-finished lugs shape the aesthetic of the collection, as do the classic pump-style chronograph pushers and the wafer-thin bezel. In contrast to the A386, the new Chronomaster Original has a sapphire crystal back that reveals the advanced technology of the timekeeper. No 50-year-old automatic movement, but the contemporary El Primero 3600 does its work there at the usual high frequency of five hertz (ten ticks per second). The decent power reserve of 60 hours is matched by richly detailed decoration with a skeletonized rotor and blued column wheel. Originality down to the last detail: the dial

In contrast to the sister collection Chronomaster El Primero Open, the Original offers a closed dial that has been largely modeled on the original 1969 watch. You make the choice: while white dials are equipped with the faithful, legendary subdials in blue, light and dark gray, black variants score with a high-contrast, full-character reverse panda look. Striking is the outer tenth-of-a-second scale on the flange, followed by another division into 100 time units and a date window at 4:30. With a white dial you also get a red chronograph hand that lends the instrument a sporty note. The Original is attached to a solid steel bracelet with a double folding clasp, which can be exchanged for a rustic leather version upon request.
