Junghans – traditional German craftsmanship
More than 150 years ago, Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law founded a small company in Schramberg, right in the middle of the Black Forest in Southern Germany. What started out with the production of single parts for watches, quickly turned into the manufacturing of entire clockworks – which is until today the most integral component of watchmaking art. After the early death of Erhard Junghans the enterprise was led by his widow and later his sons took over the business. In the late 1870s Junghans already produced American style alarm clocks, which quickly led to a massive growth in the number of employees as well as the factory premises. The original brand logo, the eight ray star, was adopted in 1890 and all timepieces since then have been sporting it. The once small company kept growing and at the turn of the 20th century actually became the world´s largest producer of watches. Following their extremely popular alarm clocks, Junghans began exploring wristwatches in the 1930s, whose style and precision quickly turned them into sought-after timekeepers all over the world.

Watches made by Junghans attract attention. To this day, the precious and extravagant luxury pieces are handmade in the Black Forest from where they are sent to customers all over the world.
