Blancpain Villeret – Courage in maintaining the tradition since 1735
As one of the oldest watch manufactories in Switzerland the company is proud that never in the history a timekeeper with a quartz movement has left the factory. It makes no difference that the company founded by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain in Villeret has an eventful history. Family-owned until 1932, it was first sold to long-term employees who did not withstand the pressure anymore in 1970 and sold it again. After that, Blancpain has disappeared for ten years before two courageous connoisseurs bought the name and ventured a new beginning. The two entrepreneurs were called Jacques Piguet and Jean-Claude Biver. Soon, they set about launching luxurious watches according to traditional craftsmanship. The Villeret collection pays homage to the brand's birthplace. However, the fine timepieces are not manufactured in Villeret anymore. Now they are manufactured in the well-known watch town Le Brassus.
