Glashütte Original Spezialist Collection: The impressive return of Saxon diving watches
The year is 1969: Glashütte Original presents the Spezimatic Typ RP TS 200, an extremely robust diving watch for sports and combat use. Now, 50 years later, the company is following up its tradition of functional instrument watches, which goes back to the 19th century, with the brand new Spezialist Collection and unites it with the technical possibilities of the modern era.
Historical roots meet slim design
The start to the new series is provided by the Spezialist SeaQ, an equally elegant and practical diver's watch. With its small diameter of 39.5 mm, it is ideally suited for narrow wrists. It adopts the design of its 1969 model almost unchanged and thus positions itself against the trend of constantly growing dimensions. As a watch for professional use, the new Spezialist achieves a water depth of up to 200 metres and, thanks to its excellent quality standards, also withstands other dangers such as scratches, shocks and magnetic fields with ease.
No wonder: With the SeaQ, Glashütte Original embraces more than 170 years of experience in the construction of specialized time displays. Whether marine chronometers for water, observation watches for land or pilot watches for air use - since its foundation in 1845, the brand has stood for reliable top performance in all areas of application.
Safe and individual: diving watches from Glashütte
With the SeaQ Panorama Date, Spezialist models are enriched by a more focused collection. Not only its diameter of 43.2 mm, but also the dimensions of the name-giving date display noticeably exceed the standard model. Water-resistant up to 300 metres, it has a breath-taking power reserve of 100 hours thanks to the new manufactury calibre 36. Despite their differences, both Glashütte editions have two important things in common: the clockwise rotating and locking bezel and the generous Super-LumiNova coatings.
Available in a range of durable rubber, textile and stainless-steel straps, both Spezialist diving watches are versatile and offer excellent ergonomics in all environments. While the classic model is offered exclusively with black, particularly timeless dials, the Panorama Date features a galvanically blue, beam finish variant - ideal if you are looking for something more dynamic. In any case, you will receive a luxurious finish from our own dial factory, where experienced craftsmanship ensures unique results. What else would you expect from the Glashütte Spezialist Collection?
