Glashutte Original Pano Edition: Watch dreams became true

With the Pano Edition the renowned watch manufactory Glashutter Uhrenbetrieb GmbH from Saxony again succeeded in presenting a top-class watch collection. The Glashutte Original Watches are a piece of everlasting and masterly watchmakers' art. Typically prominent features such as the flying tourbillon or the panorama date make the Pano Edition extraordinary watch creations.

A German traditional company is writing watchmaking history

Since the foundation of the Glashutter Uhrenmanufaktur in 1845, the company has created revolutionary inventions in the field of watch technology. Already the famous polar explorer Roald Amundsen relied on the precise accuracy of the Saxon quality timepieces and, accompanied by an observation watch by Glashutte in the year 1911, he reached the South Pole as the first human being in the world. Also in the navy, the mechanical chronometer from the Glashutter Uhrenbetrieb played a leading role. In the middle of the 1960ies, a great stir was caused by the "Spezimatic". Its minimalistic movement was revolutionary for that time; it had a diameter of only 28 millimeters and a construction height of merely 4.4 millimeters. The legendary flying tourbillon was developed in 1920 by the renowned watchmaker Alfred Helwig who was working as a teacher at the German Watchmaking School in Glashutte. The key feature of the construction is that it is consisting of only one bearing. The tourbillon really seems to fly in its filigree frame.
